For Anne-Laure, the founder of Arthémise, every object is the beginning of a new story.
Every creation is handcrafted and developed with care, allowing the time needed to find the perfect balance between the furniture, the illustration, and the personality of the person who will welcome it into their home.
Before starting a project, she takes the time to observe each piece of furniture or object—its shape, its materials, its history, and the possibilities it still holds.
Gradually, an idea takes shape. She then begins the search for the illustration that will give it a new identity: a vintage poster, an old advertisement, a product label, or another graphic treasure, carefully chosen for its colours, its character, and the emotion it evokes.
Some creations are born from furniture and objects she discovers while treasure hunting. Others begin with a cherished piece entrusted to her by a client. In both cases, the intention is the same: to create a one-of-a-kind piece that tells a new story.
This creative approach naturally embraces reuse, the circular economy, and local craftsmanship. Rather than replacing what already exists, Anne-Laure prefers to reveal its hidden potential and give it a second life, inspired by the principles of the Slow Movement.
